Yesterday saw the launch of ‘Mobile Commerce Now’ – a brand new meetup group for retailers and technology providers to get together and speak face-to-face.
After some networking and drinks, the event kicked off officially with three ‘quickfire’ pitches from mobile technology providers, showcasing their exciting innovations within mobile commerce.
First up was Bijou’s very own Morgan Scott, who talked about the astronomical growth in mobile sales since 2010 and the benefits to a retail app as part of a brand’s omnichannel strategy.
We then had Tom Townsend from Mishipay, who talked about the $200 billion cost of queues to retailers worldwide. Their solution – similar to Amazon Go – involves a simple scan, pay, leave.
Last up was Gary MacDonough from Branch. He explained how their deep linking technology for mobile is helping retailers gain and retain customers.
Founder of the group, Morgan Scott, said: “It was great to get a group of like-minded people together to share knowledge and show off what their business is doing.”
“I’m excited about getting more start-ups and mobile solution providers in front of retailers, and help retailers learn more about what great technology is out there”
The end of the evening entailed a very insightful ‘fireside chat’ with Sam Carter – Sales and Marketing Director of Fospha. Sam talked about his experiences with AI and personalisation and provided some incredible examples of how data can be used to understand and predict customer behaviour.
